Duke vs Oregon Preview

Number one seed in the West Oregon plays defending national champion Duke in the marquee match up of Thursday’s Sweet Sixteen action.
The Ducks were on the verge of being upset last time out as they trailed St. Joseph’s by seven points with five minutes left. Freshman Tyler Dorsey and sophomore Dillon Brooks made key baskets to save Oregon’s season. Brooks’ 3-pointer with 1:22 left gave the Ducks a two-point lead they held onto for the win. Ducks coach Dana Altman’s squad won despite shooting 39.3 percent (21 of 53). It helped that Oregon made 21 free throws.

Duke hopes to ride the confident shooting of Grayson Allen, Brandon Ingram and Luke Kennard. The trio scored 67 of Duke’s 71 points to defeat Yale in the last round. Yale nearly made a comeback from a 23-point halftime deficit. Duke often struggles to maintain leads due to their lack of depth.

Oregon vs Duke Betting Predictions

The Blue Devils have an excellent starting rotation. But, the bench is such a deep drop off that they will not be able to stay in the game without the starters staying in and playing almost the entire game. Against Oregon the Duke starters will have to play all out and will need to rest if they are going to be effective shooting in the second half. If you like live betting this is a great game for it. Duke should be able to hang with Oregon for the first 30 minutes of the game and you might be able to catch Oregon as a dog at some point if Duke can get a lead. But, in the end the Ducks will own the last five minutes of the game and cover the points.

Score Prediction:
Oregon 84 – Duke 74
