Chicago Cubs at Milwaukee Brewers Prediction

Chicago Cubs vs Milwaukee Brewers Prediction 07-23-16

How could I make a Brewers pick when Fowler is back? He led off Friday’s game with a home run and finished with three hits and three RBIs in his first game back. The Cubs stumbled into the All-Star break as their starting pitching sputtered while the offense struggled to find consistency. However, the Cubs pitchers look to be back as they have posted a 1.76 ERA in seven games since the break.  The Brewers have lost seven of their last nine overall and six of eight at home, where they’re 23-23. Cubs will send out veteran John Lackey to change his luck on the road, where he is 3-2 with a 4.70 ERA this season .

After losing his first three starts of the season, Davies has been rock-solid over the past 2 1/2 months, going 6-1 with a 2.95 ERA over his last 13 starts. He was a tough luck starter against Cincinnati, going seven scoreless innings and not getting the win. Cubs vs Brewers Pick

The Cubs are going to the World Series! But, will it be this century? The Cubs have come back to earth and like any team that should make the playoffs they will hit a rough patch. It looks like the starting pitching is finally starting to get back on track and that will be what will carry them to the series if they make it. Lackey however, has not really looked good in over a month. In fact, he looks old. Zach Davies on the other hand has been a stud this year. If he was on a decent team he would be right up there with wins. If the Brewers decide to make a big trade this year Davies is a player that playoff teams would make a move on. In this game he is the better pitcher and the Brewers are at home. Another factor to look at today is something that occasionally makes a difference. The home plate umpire is expected to be Fieldin Culbreth and he is a homer. Some umps just get caught up in the crowd and squeaz the plate for the opposing pitchers in key situations. Fans might not like it but I do. I will take any edge I can get. Taking the Milwaukee Brewers +1 in this game. To get a plus one I bet 50% on the money line at +130 and 50% on the run line +1.5 runs at (-130)

Score Prediction:
Brewers 4 – Cubs 3
