Denver Broncos vs San Diego Chargers Preview

This may be a division opponent but recently it has been a one sided contest. The Denver Broncos have won 9 out of the last 10 games against the San Diego Chargers. However, we are here to bet and the against the spread record isn’t nearly as good. The Broncos are 6 and 4 over the last 10 ATS. The over/under has a slight tendency toward the under with the score going over the total in only 4 of the last 10.

Broncos vs Chargers 10-13-16 Predictions

Your are only a great defense until some offensive coordinator finds a way to take advantage of your weakness. The Falcons did that last week by using a steady dose of I-formation runs and short passes that put Denver’s linebackers in coverage. This forced the Broncos to respect the play action pass and slowed down the linebacker blitzing. How important is a coordinator finding the right scheme? Just ask RG3 or the Carolina offense this year after defensive coordinators had a full off season to plan for them. The question is can the Chargers take advantage of the Falcons game plan? Yes, the Chargers have one of the top offenses in football. I know they are one and four but they are also the 2nd ranked scoring team in the NFL.

The Broncos offense looked lost against a relatively weak Falcon defense. Lets face it, you start a rookie quarterback and it is a crap shoot. Patrick Lynch who showed he wasn’t ready Sunday, His numbers weren’t that bad he completed 23 of 35 passes for 223 yards with a late TD and an interception. However, the Falcons defense isn’t very good and there were plenty of opportunities for Denver to score in the game. The Broncos hope that Trevor Siemian’s bruised left shoulder is healed by Thursday. I don’t see how it will be and even if it is a little better. With a short week how many reps can he get in? My bet will be dependent on which Denver quarterback starts. If Lynch starts then I am taking the Chargers on the money line. If Siemian starts then I am taking the over.

Broncos vs Chargers Pick:

Trevor Siemian (Over) or Patrick Lynch (Chargers ML)
